Praying in the pandemic

(Many seek solace from prayer during these difficult times. This light-hearted piece was written merely to provide the reader and myself with a measure of distraction. I do not mean any disrespect) Praying in the pandemic Four months into the pandemic, we do not have any effective treatment against the virus. While I am comfortably agnostic, I do not subscribe to the moral ambivalence of Pascal’s wager.* And so I do not feel uncomfortable in seeking the assistance of a higher power. The natural next task for me therefore, (after saying my prayers, of course) was to see how the world was interacting with God. My go-to place for such pursuits is Google ( https://trends.google.com/trends/ ), as you all know by now. The plan was to see if there was a spike in interest for words like “prayer” or God” during the last 3 months.
